5 Bits Of Gear We Can't Wait For

Posted by William Rankin on

We love the latest and greatest toys in the office but oh boy, we hate waiting for them! Here is a selection of some new bits we're getting excited about.

Arturia BeatStep Pro

Following on from the awesome and affordable Beatstep, Arturia are about to launch the bigger, badder and very sexy looking Beatstep Pro. Featuring no less than 8 cv trigger outs meaning that there is now an amazing, hands on way to sequence modular drums, we know RA boss, High Rankin will be itching to get his hands on one.

Squarp Pyramid Sequencer

Could 2015 be the return of the hardware sequencer? A churlish question no doubt considering things like Elektron’s incredible Octatrack but dedicated sequencers are few and far between these days. Squarp have something very cool looking in the pipeline with then Pyramid Sequencer that sequences both CV and Midi. Capable of complex polyrhythms (and we all know how hot polyrhythms are right now) this looks extremely interesting. One more for the modular crew!

Teenage Engineering Pocket Operator

The talk of NAMM and the talk of the town quite frankly, Teenage Engineering have returned with a seriously cool collection of pocket synths! Quirky and beautiful as always, these will be as omnipresent as the Volca collection very soon, i'm sure.

Hexinverter Mutant Machine

Hexinverter have been making some amazing drum modules over the last year with the Mutant Hats, Kick drum and Clap all doing wonders for the modular techno scene (ask Surgeon). Now we’re all waiting patiently to get our hands on the new Mutant Machine.
If you can endure the somewhat irritating Dr Snare, the module looks amazing.

Roland JD-Xi Synth

Roland are set to drop their new JD-Xi analog synth very soon. With an exciting list of features including even a mic with a vocoder and AutoPitch, this looks like a lot of fun for messing about with and has got us more than a little worked up in the RA office.

Rock on over to the Roland site for more info

Well that should do it for now. We're going back to our knob twiddling, happy beat making y'all!
